What? Under $100!
You may or may not have noticed that I have very diverse taste. I became a bit of a designer duds snob with regards to quality of construction & materials when I went to fashion design school, but I have the roots of growing up in the Seattle grunge scene when I treasured 2 dollar thrifted finds complete with moth holes & dirt stains. My 12+ years in the business world combined with a husband who wants to see me live my fashion design dream (albeit through "supporting" rather than designing) has afforded me some nice investment pieces which I cherish & wear ever-so-proudly to this day (I am a terrible purger, & often times glad that I am), but I love a great bargain & the thrill of the chase at stores like TJMaxx, Target, & local consignment shops. I dream of designer vintage boutiques in cities I travel to, the best of both designer yet bargain worlds, if you ask me! And, I find many staples & pairings in the Banana Republic family of companies & JCrew. My favorite ensembles over the years are ones where I have thrown all of the above together to complete one fantastically unidentifiably designer yet cheap & chic look. Alexander McQueen said it best: “…Wearing head-to-toe designer has become a bit passe. It’s a new era in fashion – there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together." So here is the part of my blog, another challenge (I guess I like challenges?!) where I attempt to put together an entire outfit for under $100. Here are two:
How'd I do?
Stylishly yours,
DKG
